Ripley's Believe it or not Jeju Island South Korea

Ripley's Believe it or not Jeju Island South Korea

My last update for Jeju Island is about Ripley's Believe it or Not. Located close to the major hotels and right next to Kraze Burger is the world renowned Ripley's Believe it or Not. Probably my most favorite attraction on Jeju, Ripley's showcases all the weird and wonderful from all over the world. Strange sculptures, paintings, artworks and interesting people. Some of the highlights include the rice grain portraits, the toast artwork, torture room and all the strange and unusual people from around the world.

Here is the official site for more info:

Soingook Theme Park Jeju Island

Soingook Theme Park Jeju Island
(064) 794-5400
Worldwide miniature buildings theme park.

Another update from Jeju Island. This week we visit the miniature theme park containing hundreds of notable buildings and structures from all over the world.

A very fun place to go and take pictures next to famous landmarks all in one place. ^^

As per usual it was raining as I took pictures of the buildings (if you are a long time reader some of you may remember my visit to a similar theme park near Bucheon Aiins World when it also rained as I was taking photos. ^^ http://rawrkorea.blogspot.kr/2011/07/lotte-shooting-range-science-of-aliens.html)

So at 8,000 won the park it quite big and has a place to rest and have a snack inside the park and then you can continue on to the second half of the display.

A really great place to visit. Lets have a look at some pictures and a Youtube video:

Psyche World Butterfly Park Jeju Island South Korea

Psyche World Butterfly Park Jeju Island South Korea
The Greatest Butterfly Park in the World

www.psycheworld.net

Another feature of the Jeju museum and theme attractions on the island is this interesting place known by many names; Psyche World, Bugs Land, Butterfly Park... There are a series of attractions here Bugs, Butterfies, animals, a mirror maze and more but we will have a look at the bug display and the Butterflies. ^^

The Bug display is truly amazing with many dioramas showing scenes of soccer in play, construction sites, wars, a circus scene, some casual Sunday afternoon in the park and many more. All of the bugs are real! and are carefully manipulated to play their roles in the scene they are depicting.

 photo IMG_87741_zpsd1f13cc8.jpg

The butterflies too are all real and there is a real collection to see! there is also some wall art completely made from butterflies.

Amazing and unusual to say the least and I know some people might be a little upset seeing all these insects used as art but I guess it is a unique draw card and something you will not see too often.

Here is some further pictures set to music. ^^

A little late again this week with the blog post but as they say its never to late to be early....? ^^

Anyway have a great week and weekend and I will be back next week with more from Jeju! ^^

Jeju Island Sex Museum and Love Land

Jeju Island Sex Museum and Love Land South Korea

Yes another post about sex museums and parks in South Korea. This time we go to Jeju Island famous for its many places devoted to sex. We managed to visit 2 of those places and I have some pictures and videos to share with you.

Be warned there is a lot of shocking content in the video's so if you are faint of heart you might have to skip this weeks update and come back next week for a more "friendly" update. ^^

Jeju Love Land is located right next to Mysterious Road. So you can see both of these attractions at the same time. ^^

The only other comment I could really make is once you have seen one sex museum or sex theme park you have seen them all. Nothing is really that different unless you have some particular interest in some historical nature regarding the museum piece.

All of these places are easy to find on Jeju. There are many pamphlets or tourist guide books with directions to hundreds of attractions all over Jeju Island.

Well that was a short update for this week. I hope you are having a good time and I will see you again next week with some new material. ^^

Lotte Hotel Jeju Island and Dam & Roo resort Jeju Island

Lotte Hotel Jeju Island South Korea
Dam & Roo Resort Jeju Island South Korea

Continuing my Jeju island report I wanted to spend my time this week describing some of the different types of accommodation you can expect to find on Jeju.

I had the lovely pleasure of staying in a resort (Dam and Roo) and the luxury Lotte Hotel Jeju.

Lets have a look at the Lotte Hotel First. Right in the heart of Jeju is the Lotte Hotel. A huge complex with thousands of rooms, several pools, restaurants, pool bar, camping area, casino and even a Hello Kitty floor Lotte Hotel is a fantastic place to enjoy some fun and relaxation.

Have a few dollars handy if you want to eat on site as the restaurants are not cheap. We went to the buffet restaurant that served perfect steak, sushi and many other dishes and for 2 people it cost 164,000 won. After the buffet there is a fire show behind the restaurant (see below). Breakfast was also a little expensive at 80,000 won for 2 people....!

Lets Have a look at the place and also some YouTube videos:

One of the hotel guests was kind enough to let us come in and see what it was like inside one of the Hello Kitty rooms. ^^

Dam & Roo Resort Jeju Island South Korea

The other place I was lucky to stay at was the Dam & Roo resort. Far from Jeju city the resort is out in a quiet area with perhaps 20 rooms, some boasting there own private swimming pool! The meals here have a limited menu but are very reasonably priced not more than an average restaurant and the convenience store at the hotel is also cheaper than I expected. There is an outdoor pool area and barbecue area. The suites are very nice and it is very quiet so a great place to relax.

Here are a few pictures:

Jeju Island South Korea - Part 1 - Driving - Mysterious Road

I just had a wonderful long holiday on Jeju Island at the very southern end of South Korea.
Over the next few weeks I will be posting various travels that we went on.

This being the first post I wanted to take you on a virtual tour by showing you some of the driving scenery. Jeju is quite different from the rest of Korea and traffic there is quite light in comparison.

We will also visit Mysterious Road or some people call it Ghost Road where the laws of physics seem to not apply....

So here we go. ^^

Mysterious Road is quite famous on Jeju and is quite a tourist attraction. The legend has it that if you stop your car on the road you will roll forward up the hill or roll backward up the hill (depending on which side of the road you stop on of course). Either rolling bottles or cans on the road or stopping your car to see if it rolls by itself is more common than you would imagine. Watching for several minutes I saw perhaps 5 cars stop and a bunch of Chinese tourists rolling bottles and jumping all over the road! The best way to locate this road is to find out where Jeju Love Land is. The road is right outside you will see the coffee shop and Mysterious Road is right there and runs for 50 - 100 meters past the coffee shop. Go past the coffee shop until you see a sign saying "Mysterious Road Start".

 photo IMG_86801_zps7dd28c27.jpg

Renting a Kia K5 we drove to our first place of stay the resort Dam & Roo (more on that next week along with Lotte Hotel Jeju). Jeju seems to be the land of the K5 as there are dozens driving all over the island. I think it is a favourite car for all the rental car agencies.

Lets take a little drive on a typical Jeju road:

Well this is my quick update for this week. Next week I will show you a couple of the amazing places you can stay and perhaps something more. ^^
Over the coming weeks I will be sharing more from Jeju Island but I will take a break for a week to bring you Musclemania which will be happening on the 11 of May.
Until next time have a fantastic week! ^^

I also took a trip to Times Square for the purpose of taking you for a virtual visit. Here is the YouTube link:

Well this week begins a month of excitement. Starting on Friday the 29th of March is the Seoul International Motor Show at KINTEX so if you have time I definitely recommend you get out there. I will be there for a few days. It finishes on the 7th of April so you have plenty of time to visit.

I will be bringing you some limited pictures next week with a full video presentation perhaps the week after depending on the work involved in creating the video :)
Until next week have a fantastic time! ^^
