This is a late blog entry this week! Due to a busy week and a huge editing job still currently in progress I have just been able to get things together to make this post.

Stay tuned for my video project I am currently working on covering the racing girls of the motor show which I should have ready sometime in the coming weekend (6 or 7th of April) and will update on this page. This is of course subject to other commitments (the Photo and Imaging show that is on this weekend also).

What went into this project:
9 Hours shooting time
Over 7,000 photo's
Over 40 minutes of video footage
And countless hours of editing time (over 20 hours!)

The 2013 Seoul Motor Show was huge this year. Held at KINTEX over 2 weeks starting on the 29th (Public viewing) of March and ending on the 7th of April (as of writing this you still can get out there this weekend and see it!).
Thousands of people were viewing the cars and the models that covered a massive area of the KINTEX main floor one and the adjacent KINTEX building floor 2. So don't think that the main building has all the excitement be sure to check out the building next to the main floor for perhaps the best displays on offer at the show.

As per normal there were a vast array of major car manufactures exhibiting their cars and some fantastic concept cars that should go into production because they were very popular with the crowd!

There were again  literally hundreds of racing models that drew a crowd of professional and amateur photographers and all the famous models were there representing the big car brands.

JangHeung Art Park and Times Square

A few weeks ago on a lovely 20 degree day I visited an art park in gyeonggido. Across the street from an amusement part the art park has an art museum showcasing various form of art on several levels and an open air "Art Park" with several sculptures on display as well as some places to relax and enjoy the day.

Well this week begins a month of excitement. Starting on Friday the 29th of March is the Seoul International Motor Show at KINTEX so if you have time I definitely recommend you get out there. I will be there for a few days. It finishes on the 7th of April so you have plenty of time to visit.

I will be bringing you some limited pictures next week with a full video presentation perhaps the week after depending on the work involved in creating the video :)

Last weekend I was invited to visited the Graduate Design Exhibition in Yatap.

At the Korean Institute of Design Graduate designs were on display to the public.

A wide variety of designs were on display from practical items, clothing, architecture, household items, jewelry, electronics and so on.
There were some impressive submissions at the exhibition and I have some photographed here as well as the YouTube slideshow. So have a look below. ^^

This weekend was fantastic with a temperature reaching 20 degrees on Saturday! So it was only fitting that a day out in the lovely weather was in order.

We visited a couple of places but I will tell you about one of them for now; The Lighting Museum.

Another one of a kind museum has an exhibition of light. A look at the history of lighting bulbs, lamps and other historical forms of lighting. There is also a special exhibition showing some applications of light such as light therapy and effective lighting in an apartment mock up. Here are the websites:

Seoul International Audio Exhibition 2013

COEX 31 March - 3 February 2013

This weekend I went to the Seoul International Audio Exhibition that was held at COEX.

The first thing that struck me about this exhibition is that everything was huge... I was expecting to see some surround sound equipment that was very subtle but had excellent crystal clear and immersive sound. However I was greeted with huge speaker systems with power cables as thick as a snake (a fat snake anyway) and space age record players and even valve amplifiers!

There were a lot of classical music enthusiasts listening to delicate music on 50,000,000 won speakers That's about $50,000). And to be honest i am a bit of an audio fan and I didn't hear too much of what I would call amazing or spectacular sound for the amount of money, equipment and power drain that was on offer. I'm not even sure where you could put this equipment in Korea it was so big and bulky.

I was also a little confused by some of the exhibitors using dark lighting for their displays especially Sennheiser. Maybe they thought that the deprivation of the sense of sight would enhance your listening experience but for me it only added to the confusion of trying to find their product and experience the styling or  uniqueness of what they were offering.

Overall it was an unusual experience (if a little expensive at 10,000 won per ticket) and a good place to buy a good copy of some old records (as there were several record vendors located in the outside corridors).
